Meet Mrs. LeAnne Bonnett, M.Ed.

Favorite Bible Verse: "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given to me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace." Acts 20:24

I am a farm girl from Southern Indiana where I had the richest blessing of being raised in a Christian Lutheran home surrounded by awesome Christian parents, brother, grandparents, aunts and uncles, many first cousins, neighbors, friends, teammates, classmates. My husband of 24 years and I are blessed with 3 sons, 2 goddaughters, and our first daughter-in-law married to our oldest son, along with many wonderful friends and family. As a child I was given the opportunity to worship at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wegan, IN.  I attended a Lutheran Day School where I was taught the truth of the Word of God and where I was given a solid foundation of education.

My high school education was at Brownstown Central High School in Brownstown, IN.  Here I was again blessed with excellent teachers, coaches and counselors to prepare me for the gift of attending Concordia University, Austin, Texas, as a collegiate athlete. Here at Concordia, the Holy Spirit led me to Lutheran education as my career. As a senior we were to select a mission statement. Acts 20:24, the Bible verse above, is the Bible verse I selected as my mission statement.

I am now in my 27th year of ministry. I was blessed to earn a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Science, from Concordia University, Portland, OR, the fall of 2012. I am so grateful to the Lord for granting me the strength to complete this life-long goal.  The pursuit of earning this degree has enriched the quality of my teaching for my students.  The journey of attaining this degree has also encouraged me to maintain the educational techniques that are productive while also critiquing areas for the enhancement of the education I strive to provide for the students and families I am called to serve."

I pray that I will always place sharing the truth of the Word of God and the salvation of Jesus Christ as our Savior in all aspects of my life: wife, mother, teacher, neighbor, friend, relative, coach, etc. I love teaching all academic areas at the junior high age level with all of their energy, intellect, and growing faith. Examples of various areas of disciplines include the following:  Facilitating faith class and witnessing the Holy Spirit work in the children as their understanding of the Word of God-the Bible- becomes more real to their own lives and how God will be their strength is awe inspiring!  Guiding science class is a joy for I am blessed with the opportunity to teach and learn with my students about God's amazing creation. The team ministry that Christian education thrives on between parent-student-teacher, and also home-church-and school, is a fantastic opportunity for our children to become all that God, their Creator, has made them to be--for Him.

"Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory." Isaiah 6:3
